●’Ibafo, Mowe power connection to gulp N60m’
Power distribution across the country between July and October averaged 3,000 MW, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said. According to the Daily Energy Report, NBS said that the highest form of energy generated and sent out was recorded in September.
According to available data, in August and July 2016, data also showed that energy sent out stood at 3,648.93MW and 3,019.38MW on August 18 and July 11 respectively, being the highest for both months.
Meanwhile, excitement has greeted plans by Ibadan electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) to supply electricity to Magboro, Ibafo and other settlements in Ogun state along the Lagos–Ibadan expressway by December after seven years of total blackout.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC), which said this, added that it would invest N60 million to link the communities to the existing distribution line from the new Abeokuta 132/33KV substation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria. During a tour of the substation and the examination of the construction of the line and poles to link the communities, Chief Technical Officer, IBEDC, Mr. Ade Ayileka, said that the work would be completed in the next six weeks.
